Background
Our principal surveyor, Ian Braham, has spent a lifetime around boats. He worked in the engineering sector for 20 years, before moving to the marine industry over 15 years ago. Ian is professionally qualified through the International Institute of Marine Surveying (GradIIMS).
Why did Ian establish IMS Yacht Surveys?:
"Having reviewed many hundreds of vessel surveys during my career, I was surprised how the quality of work varies between surveyors. Some survey reports are little more than a list of limitations and a description of the vessel. I established IMS Yacht Surveys to provide a professional service, producing comprehensive reports filled with useful information, enabling clients to make informed decisions"
Ian is an appointed RORC measurer for yachts racing under IRC and is a non-executive director of a naval architecture firm, Peter Eyre Marine Design Limited ( www.pemarinedesign.com ). He holds a Yachtmaster Offshore qualification and has logged tens of thousands of miles as a yacht skipper.

We are based in Poole, with easy access to the Solent and along the South Coast. Travel to mainland Europe and further afield can also be arranged.
